WORK FROM HOME POSITION LEVEL: Part Time – Team members may work remotely 2-3 days a week. Schedules will be determined by supervisors and will be based on tasks, schedules, team interactions, etc. This person may be asked to share an office/cubicle with a similar WFH position level as approved by supervisor.

Role:
Supports the pursuit of the credit union’s Vision, Mission, and Values through promoting safety and soundness and assuring the effectiveness of the assigned programs. Assumes responsibility for tactical level program design as well as the operational level execution of key program capabilities; positioning the programs as the second line of defense. Assures efficiency and effectiveness of program operations, reliability, and integrity of reporting processes, and compliance with laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, and contracts. The Senior Risk Department Analyst is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the assigned areas of Risk Management compliance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

30% Uses discretion and critical thinking to develop and administer the assigned areas of the Risk Management program that aligns with regulatory requirements and current industry best practices. Responsible for the administration of the credit union’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool, including module optimization to meet the needs of the organization.

25% Assures tactical level program design as well as the operations level execution of key program capabilities; positioning the programs as the second line of defense. Assists the Manager of Risk Management with oversite of the Risk Management program including the development and maintenance of the credit union’s Business Continuity Plan.

20% Is a critical liaison between the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program and organizational stakeholders with responsibility of designing, implementing, and maintaining processes that maximize operational effectiveness in partnership with the business units we serve.

15% Demonstrates strong subject matter expertise regarding Risk Management and stays abreast of developing industry and compliance regulations about Risk Management.

5% Prepares and delivers periodic reports to the Manager of Risk Management and Senior Vice President of Enterprise Insights for appropriate board reporting concerning the credit union’s Risk Management practices, trends, and regulatory compliance.

5% Proactively performs other duties as needed.

Performance Measurements:
1. Supports and practices Rogue’s Vision, Mission, Values and Loyalty Culture. Utilizes the Service Promises with both internal and external members. Embraces Rogue’s community involvement program in a positive and proactive manner.

2. Successfully develops assigned programs that are scalable as the credit union grows in size and complexity. Demonstrates current knowledge of applicable State and Federal Laws and Industry Regulations.

3. Utilizes excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrates those by ensuring the Manager of Risk Management is informed of issues affecting the credit unions compliance with assigned areas. Response to exam and audit concerns and corrective action of all related compliance deficiencies or violations.

4. Promotes teamwork and works effectively with all departments and demonstrates the ability to facilitate a collaborative working relationship with internal stakeholders. Has good listening skills and contributes ideas.

5. Ensures credit union management is aware of critical areas of operation that could create a significant risk to the credit union. Effectively prepares annual assessments and reports for the Manager of Risk Management and Senior Vice President of Enterprise Insights.

6. Ensures all activities within the assigned areas of the department are carried out within the expected time frames and completed accurately.

7. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, resourcefulness, and successfully completes duties assigned.

8. Demonstrates empathy, self-reflection, and adjustment of own behaviors, displaying effective emotional intelligence.

9. Adheres to and maintains all credit union promotional, regulatory and policy compliance requirements including compliance with any Federal and State laws.

10. Meets or exceeds assigned goals in order to achieve individual, department and credit union goals. Stays informed of current trends within the credit union movement and financial services industry.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education: (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree), (3) or on the job experience equivalent to.

Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills: 
Must possess an advanced working knowledge of one or more Risk Management disciplines, be highly productive, self-managed, resourceful, and dependable. Strong attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate strategic and critical thinking skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to motivate or influence others using diplomacy. Must possess excellent PC skills with the aptitude to learn new software. Strong leadership skills.

Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discernments in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. Employee must be capable of adjusting to unpredictable schedules proactively. As a direct representative of the credit union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery. Travel to all credit union regions may be required.
