GoWest Solutions Announces the Advanced Leadership Program Scholarship Winner Katie Beaver

GoWest Solutions is proud to announce that Katie Beaver, Director of Marketing at MountainCrest Credit Union, has been awarded the scholarship for the 2025 Advanced Leadership Program (ALP). This program is designed to expand strategic capabilities, elevate leadership impact, and accelerate the development of tomorrow’s leaders.

When Katie Beaver was promoted from a teller to the Lending and Accounts Control Manager two years ago, she had never held a leadership role. Her coworker Lindsey Welch, who steps into MountainCrest’s CEO role on April 4, had attended the Advanced Leadership Program in 2018 and recommended she join GoWest’s Leadership Institute, which is for emerging leaders. Beaver jumped at the chance.

“I absolutely loved it,” said Beaver of Leadership Institute. “I learned so much from the instructors and all the other people I got to be with every day. It was really amazing to learn and grow in that way.”

“When I saw the Advanced Leadership Program open up, I thought since I’m in a different role now, I can definitely use some more training,’” said Beaver, who was recently promoted to Director of Marketing. “I need to up my communication skills game, and I think ALP will be a huge help for me in that direction. I’m also terrified of being put on the spot. I believe the program will push me out of my comfort zone.”

Beaver was amazed and excited when she learned she had been awarded the scholarship to this year’s ALP. “I submitted my essay and thought I’d just see what happens,” she shared. “It means a lot to me. I think it’s great that GoWest has this scholarship program!”

From April to September 2025, Advanced Leadership Program attendees participate in an intensive program that is customized to deepen the bench strength and fast-track the talent readiness of tomorrow’s leaders. This program, which has both in-person and virtual sessions, produces a deeper understanding in each individual of their current levels of empowerment, not yet realized, and accountability for themselves, enabling them to take more effective and decisive action.
