GAC Real-Time Updates: Staking Six GoWest State Flags at the National Governmental Affairs Conference

As thousands of Credit Union Movement advocates –about 500 of them from GoWest region — converge on Washington for the National Governmental Affairs Conference, a very important event is the recognition of each state’s flag during opening ceremonies.

Special thanks to our flag carriers for proudly representing Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. State. The flags they carried speak for 300 credit unions, 3,000 employees, and the 17.5 million members who’ve chosen us as their preferred financial services providers.

• TruWest Credit Union’s Alan Althouse carried Arizona’s flag;
• Colorado was well-represented by Canvas CU’s Ben Metzger;
• And hello, Idaho! Toby King from CapEd CU carried the Gem State’s flag to the mainstage;
• Oregon’s state flag was carried by Amy Nelson from Point West CU;
• Don Miller and a team from Gesa CU represented Washington; and
• Meridian Trust FCU rocked the house when Bryan Thomas, Brandon Smith, and Adele Gardner brought in Wyoming’s flag.

Long live the not-for-profit, cooperative credit union model!
