“Partial” Govt. Shutdown Looms; GoWest has Resources for Credit Unions

In the Beltway, the pressure is on to avoid a federal government shutdown by Friday. With the House not returning to session until Wednesday, it’s not looking good.

If a funding deal is not reached, at least the USDA, FDA, DOE, EPA, the Army Corps of Engineers, VA, DOT and HUD would shutter late this week. Other federal agencies’ funding will expire March 8 unless a deal is reached.

Your credit union may have members who work for the federal government or may otherwise be impacted by a shutdown. Please visit the GoWest Government Shutdown Resource Center today to prepare to serve those members.

A 500-strong delegation of CU advocates will accompany the GoWest team to the National Governmental Affairs Conference next week. Even if there is a partial shutdown we anticipate Congress will be working to find funding solutions, and address other priorities.
