GoWest 2024 Awards: Employee Experience Finalists Find Meaningful Ways to Foster Engagement
Posted by Alyse Knudsen on August 14, 2024
With a record number of nominations submitted for the eight award categories for the GoWest Awards at MAXX 2024, the Recognition Advisory Group had their work cut out for them as they evaluated the many outstanding submissions received. It was an exciting – and difficult – process to choose the finalists and winners as GoWest has an outstanding field of credit unions that offer their employees and members an incredible array of services and opportunities.
This year’s awards include both credit union program and individual categories: Employee Experience, Member Program, Community Impact, Cooperation in Action, Young Professional, Distinguished Director, Summit Advocate, and Summit Icon.
With the MAXX 2024 Awards Dinner and Gala in Denver just two months away, we are excited to share more about the finalists in the credit union program categories.
This week, we are highlighting the finalists in the Employee Experience category. This award recognizes a credit union that has intentionally built a culture of internal professional development by fostering a positive work environment, providing tools for growth, and encouraging and supporting career development.
Congratulations to the finalists in the Employee Experience category!
Blue Federal Credit Union
Blue Federal Credit Union is committed to their core values of “Boundless Optimism, Unwavering Confidence, Uniquely Us, and Over the Top” and ensures that both potential and current employees have an understanding of what it means to be part of their team. Their Culture Blueprint is a comprehensive guide that encapsulates their organizational identity while providing insights into the employee experience. Comprehensive training and leadership programs, employee resource groups, and an array of benefits and activities exemplify these values every day.
OCCU
OCCU introduced the 32-hour work week for Member Call Center staff in the wake of the COVID pandemic after they saw a rise in call volume as well as an increase in employees taking unplanned PTO, logging overtime, and leaving their jobs. The 32-hour work week has led to happier employees who are both more engaged and more experienced – and that’s meant both lower costs for the credit union and better member service.
Pioneer Federal Credit Union
Pioneer Federal Credit Union’s Core Values and Service Promises guide the credit union and provide a foundation for its goal and mission: To ignite lifelong partnerships, member success, and strong communities through “WOW” service. Team member development is key to creating “WOW” service, and the credit union fosters this through training, awards programs, and by building a culture of continuous learning, engagement, and personal development.
Winners in all categories will be announced at the GoWest Awards Dinner & Gala on Oct. 16 at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver.
