A Legacy of Advocacy: TruWest Credit Union Board Marks 32 Years of 100% PAC Participation

Across generations of directors, the TruWest Credit Union Board has remained aligned around one simple truth: when credit unions show up together, our voice carries weight.

In a remarkable demonstration of that legacy, TruWest marked 32 straight years of 100% Board participation in Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions as of December 2025.

Thirty-two consecutive years of 100% Board participation is not accidental — it is the result of intentional leadership, shared values, and a deep understanding that advocacy is not optional, but essential to protecting the credit union mission.

“What makes our Board’s commitment so special is its consistency. Year after year, across generations of directors, they’ve shown up, contributed, and used their voices to advocate for our members and employees,” said Chris Kearney, President and CEO of TruWest. “That level of alignment and shared purpose is rare; and it’s a defining strength of TruWest.”

PAC participation is more than a contribution; it is a commitment to being present at the table where decisions are made. In an environment shaped by constant regulatory change and rapid innovation, this sustained advocacy protects the ability to serve members today — and safeguards their financial futures tomorrow.

“What sets TruWest apart is the consistency and continuity of commitment,” said Chris Kemm, AVP of Political Engagement at GoWest. “That alignment — year after year — strengthens not only TruWest, but the entire credit union movement. TruWest’s leadership ensures policymakers understand the real-world impact credit unions have on members, families, and communities.”
