$11,972 Donated to Local Food Banks by Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union

For many years, Wash.-based Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union was a proud supporter of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. After the Grays Harbor Relay, the local Relay for Life, was tabled several years ago, the credit union refocused its fundraising efforts to support local food banks.
Throughout the year, Great NorthWest’s Skip a Payment program raises funds by donating $5 of each skip being donated. Staff is encouraged to dress “Casual For a Cause” by wearing jeans on Fridays and Saturdays with a $1 donation from each employee each time they participate. And they brought back the sale of their popular holiday socks, which are sold for $3 a pair with all proceeds going to the food banks.
In 2024 through these efforts, Great NorthWest raised $11,972 that will be equally distributed between Aberdeen Community Food Bank, Chinook Food Bank, Greater Chehalis Food Bank, Hoquiam Food Bank, Ilwaco Food Bank, Montesano Food Bank, North Pacific County Food Bank, and Ocean Park Food Bank.
These donations would not be possible without the credit union’s generous members and dedicated team who support these important fundraising efforts.
