Annual Co-Op Luncheon
Each year, Oregon Cooperatives get together during “legislative days” in the Oregon State Capitol to promote Cooperatives in Oregon. This year over 60 attendees including Legislators, legislative staff, soon-to-be newly sworn in Legislators and cooperative representatives met for what is known as “the best lunch in town,” primarily because of the Oregon prime rib and Tillamook Ice Cream.
The hosts of the Annual luncheon were:
GoWest Credit Union Association
The Oregon Broadband Association
Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association
Agriculture NW Cooperative Council
It is a great time to talk about the cooperative principles and promote Oregon credit unions.
Thank you to these credit union representatives for attending:
Seth Schafer and Cori Poland, Rivermark Community Credit Union
Pat Force, Valley Credit Union
Rachel Pross and David Deckelman, MAPS Credit Union
Chad Olney, Pacific Crest FCU
Kasey Rockwell, credit union advocate
December Legislative Days in the Capitol
Legislators are meeting this week in the Oregon Capitol for the final week of meetings in 2024 and for preparation for the 2025 legislative session. The Governor called a special session on Thursday to address costs related to the summer wildfire season. Your GoWest team spent the week talking to legislators on our agenda items and listening to bill concepts from legislators and other lobbyists.
The newly elected members will be sworn in on January 13th and session officially begins on Tuesday, January 21st. This is a short turn around time to prepare for OR Credit Union Day at the Capitol on February 5th.
