OR Business Summit Tackles Business Issues

Over 1000 business leaders from across the state meet at the Convention Center for the annual Oregon Leadership Summit.  This year’s theme was “advancing world-class ambitions” and focused on Oregon’s global competitiveness in innovative products and services.

The event brings together business leaders from all around the state as well as Congressional and State Elected Officials.  Speakers included US Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, Senate President Rob Wagner and Speaker of the House, Julie Fahey as well as other leaders in both parties.

Governor Tina Kotek spoke on her budget and agenda for the 2024 session.  The Governor focused on Portland in her remarks as a follow up to her Central City Task Force work last year.  She stated, “Crime is down, collaboration is up, and signs of progress are more prominent than ever,” Kotek said. “We need to stay the course; we need to stay focused. Portland’s success is critical to Oregon’s success. Portland’s is a city on the rise, and it will take all of us.” Then Kotek issued a plea. “It’s important for all of us to tell Portland’s comeback story,” she said. “My ask comes with an admonition: Stop trash-talking Portland.”

There were 12 breakouts sessions including one on the State’s Housing Production Agenda and Modernizing Oregon’s Approach to Regulations.

GoWest Credit Union Association was a Bronze Sponsor and OnPoint Community Credit Union was a Silver Sponsor.
