P1FCU Wins Best of Show at 2024 Marketing Conference for University of Idaho Partnership

P1FCU, which serves members in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, announced its recent success at the 2024 MAC Conference (Marketing Association of Credit Unions), where it was awarded five marketing honors, including the “Best of Show” MACQUEE Award for its University of Idaho Partnership Marketing. The marketing conference recognized excellence in credit union marketing, communication, and branding, celebrating campaigns that demonstrated creativity and impact.
P1FCU’s marketing efforts were recognized with the following awards:
- Best of Show MACQUEE Award: University of Idaho Partnership
- Gold Sponsorship/Partnership Marketing: University of Idaho Partnership
- Gold Electronic Marketing: Debt Consolidation Loans Campaign
- Gold Broadcast – Radio/Audio: Ascend Checking Campaign
- Bronze Complete Campaign: University of Idaho Meet Dave
“In 2023, we entered a new naming rights partnership with the University of Idaho Vandals and their dome, where they play football, track, and other sports,” stated the winning award submission by P1FCU. “The Kibbie Dome (Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center), as it was commonly called, has a storied tradition named after Bill Kibbie who made substantial donations in the initial dome funding drive. So, changing it to the P1FCU Kibbie Dome would require fans and alumni buy-in.”
“In this partnership, we introduced new signage with the new name, as well as a fun campaign with a fictional superfan named Dave,” the award submission continued. “By introducing a relatable superfan character, Dave, we bridged the gap between tradition and the new partnership, subtly weaving the P1FCU brand into the fabric of the university community’s identity. This strategy was designed to ensure a respectful and effective transition to the P1FCU Kibbie Dome name, aligning with our overarching goals of enhancing product uptake, positive brand association, and heightened brand visibility.”

The Marketing Association of Credit Unions has been recognizing outstanding achievements in credit union marketing for over three decades. This year’s conference brought together credit union marketing leaders from across the nation to celebrate innovative strategies that drive member engagement and growth.
