MAXX Welcomes Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen to Mainstage

“I feel like a rockstar here,” said U.S. Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen (CO-7) as MAXX attendees warmly welcome her to the mainstage in Denver this week.

And she should feel that way. In her first term in Congress, Pettersen has supported many credit union priorities, including H.R. 582, The Credit Union Board Modernization Act. The bill passed the House, but not yet the Senate, and Pettersen vowed to keep up the fight. Even as a first term Representative, Pettersen was proud to be appointed to the House Committee on Financial Services, an important committee to credit unions.

During her remarks, Pettersen thanked credit unions for their work to find solutions to the housing crisis.

“You are very important to the economy,” she said. “You’re serving the underserved.” She noted that when some other financial institutions have left communities, “credit unions are there. You play such an important role in our communities.”
