Begin Your Advocacy Journey – Advocacy 101 Training Begins in August
Posted by Alyse Knudsen on July 17, 2024
Join GoWest Credit Union Association on Aug. 13-14 for a complimentary, two-part virtual Advocacy Training workshop, where participants will learn how the impact stories created at your credit union and Advocacy go hand in hand. This program will help credit union professionals at all levels hone their advocacy skills and deepen their understanding of the Credit Union Movement.
During this two-part virtual workshop, attendees will delve into what it means to be a credit union advocate while receiving the tools and training needed to maximize their impact through a personal and credit union-specific engagement strategy. The GoWest advocacy team, led by Chris Kemm, VP, Political Affairs, and Jordan Beyer, AVP, Grassroots Advocacy, will lead discussions about the many ways to engage in credit union advocacy and the best practices for doing so. Guest speakers will provide valuable insight into creating impactful messaging on the Credit Union Difference to different audiences, as well as demystify the ideas of lobbying and advocacy.
“Learning how to advocate for credit unions and message the Credit Union Difference effectively is essential to ensuring credit unions continue to serve their members well into the future,” explained Beyer. “Advocacy 101 helps set the stage by allowing you to harness the power of your credit union story and learn more about GoWest’s approach to advocacy.”
