Solarity Credit Union Fills Critical Need at Selah Naches Food Bank

Solarity Credit Union teamed up with the Selah Naches Food Bank to collect desperately needed non-perishable food items and toiletries. During the month of March, the credit union asked its members, employees, and the community to help shower the Selah Naches Food Bank with donations to restock its shelves. All month long, toiletries, cleaning supplies and non-perishable foods were dropped off at the credit union’s Selah branch.

The food drive was a success, and on April 4, Solarity employees delivered the collected items to the food bank. The donations filled an SUV and seven Grocery Outlet shopping carts.

“This donation is incredible,” said Kris Espinoza, Volunteer Coordinator with the Selah Naches Food Bank. “The support from Solarity members, employees, and the community means a lot, and every little bit makes a difference.” She added, “We’re so grateful to Solarity for the generosity they’ve shown and for rallying together and helping stock our shelves with this food drive!”

The drive was especially timely, as the Selah Naches Food Bank has seen increased need as it settles into its new home on North Park Drive. Donations like this one are imperative in helping the food bank restock its shelves so it can continue to provide meals and other necessities for local families.

In addition to the food drive, Solarity plans to continue supporting the food bank throughout the year with employee volunteer days to help deliver food and stock shelves.
