P1FCU Partnership with University of Idaho Provides Financial Literacy For Students

This past year, P1FCU, based in Lewiston, Idaho, expanded its partnership with the University of Idaho to include the naming rights to the P1FCU Kibbie Dome and an expansion of the university’s financial literacy program, BEAMS (Better Education About Money for Students).

The BEAMS program previously served 400 students annually, but with the new partnership, that has expanded to the entire student body. According to a 2019 survey of 30,000+ college students from 440+ institutions, college students consistently ranked money management as the task they felt least prepared to tackle.

President and CEO of P1FCU Chris Loseth said, “The University of Idaho partnership creates a great opportunity to further invest in young adults and empower them through a high-impact, high-value financial literacy education with support from our staff.”

P1FCU is also the official exclusive sponsor of the university’s Elevate Idaho financial literacy program for student-athletes. P1FCU will assist its athletics department with developing and scaling the Elevate Idaho program to support student athletes’ financial literacy.

This partnership has also allowed the credit union to partner with the Vandals football community through tailgate events, social media giveaways, and a fun debit card campaign. P1FCU helped the Vandals celebrate the first home playoff run in over 30 years.
