What’s your Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan? Tabletop Exercise offered for CUs

Credit unions have a unique opportunity to participate in a tabletop exercise testing their cyber resilience in a hosted scenario session.

This event is co-delivered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors and Credit Union National Association. Register to participate in upcoming Tabletop Exercises (TTX) for NASCUS and the credit union system on Wednesday, September 27thfrom 1-5 p.m. EST.  This TTX is being offered as a hybrid event: credit unions may either participate virtually or travel to Washington to participate in-person at the Treasury Department. Space is limited to the first 10 credit unions that express interest and are below the $100 M threshold.

Due to GoWest’s strong partnership with and support of NASCUS, we have been offered this unique opportunity. NASCUS has worked with the Treasury Department over the last several years to bring a series of cybersecurity Tabletop Exercises (TTX) to the credit union system. Each TTX allows participating credit unions to test their cyber resilience as they work through an unfolding scenario administered live by Treasury Department experts.

This exercise will be a credit union only exercise. Participants will be given a scenario (ransomware/DDOS attack, etc.) and you will have an opportunity to dialogue with each other, Treasury, CISA, NASCUS, etc. about how to address that particular event based on your current cybersecurity incident response plan. The scenario will be geared towards credit unions (state or federal, whether NASCUS member or not) with $100 million or less in assets. However, any interested credit union, regardless of asset size, is welcome to participate.

Details for the specific scenario will only be provided to the participants that are registered for the exercise.  As a non-public event, the information provided cannot be shared outside of the credit union or publicly. If you are still interested in participating in order to reserve your spot, send your Credit Union’s point of contact information and attendees to Adelle Pomeroy at [email protected].
