Arizona Legislature Heads Back to Work

After an extended break since June 13th, the Arizona State Legislature is expected to return to the Capitol on Monday.  It is anticipated that the legislative work when they return will be centered around extending Prop 400.  Prop 400 was approved by Maricopa County voters in 1985 and levied a half-cent sale tax to fund freeway, major roads and public transit in Maricopa County.

The proposition is set to expire in 2025, so lawmakers need to take action soon in order to have and extension placed on the ballot in time for the 2024 election.
