Credit Union Advocates Meet with Chairman Wyden – IRS Reporting Update
Posted by Ben Shuey on December 1, 2021
On Tuesday afternoon credit union advocates in the northwest met virtually with Senator Wyden (D – OR) the current Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. The Senator spoke to his continued support of credit unions and the amazing work you accomplish in your communities. He also shared that the IRS reporting issue credit unions helped remove from the House language of the Build Back Better bill, is not currently in the Senate language and he does not anticipate its inclusion moving forward. This is a huge milestone in the push back on this issue and speaks to the power of the credit union grassroots voices. We will continue to voice our opposition to this issue and work closely with both Chairman Wyden and Ranking Member Senator Crapo (R – ID).
