Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers Secures Key Leadership on E&C

Congresswoman McMorris (R – WA 5) Rodger will lead Republicans on the Energy & Commerce Committee. The eastern Washington Congresswoman will be the first woman to hold a leadership role in the committee that has authority over the nation’s health care, technology, environmental and energy policy. This position will play a key role in a number of important negotiations in the 117th Congress and has previously been filled by Congressman Walden (R – OR 2) who held the role after serving as the previous chairman of the committee. In relation to credit union priorities this committee plays a key role in conversations and negotiations on data breaches and privacy legislation. It is also likely that Congressman Schrader (D – OR 5) will remain on the E&C committee in the 117th Congress.
