S. 4117 The PPP Small Business Forgiveness Act: Fibre Federal CU business members make their voices heard!

If you’ve been following the Advocacy Blog for any length of time, you have seen numerous Calls To Action. Here in the Northwest region, you all make your voices heard with your elected officials. One recent Call To Action was to support S. 4117 The PPP Small Business Forgiveness Act. A reminder of some the highlight of the bill:
- Forgiveness for covered PPP loans of less than $150,000, if the borrower submits a simple, one-page attestation form to the lender;
- The lender shall be held harmless from any enforcement action if the borrower’s attestation contained any falsehoods; and
- The borrower attestation will include a means by which a borrower, on a voluntary basis, will provide the following demographic information: sex; race; ethnicity; and veteran status of owner.
Fibre Federal CU out of Longview, WA recently reached out to their business members to include their voice with an e-market that directly spoke to the need for voices in the business community to be engaged. This is a perfect example of taking advocacy to your credit union membership. We commend the efforts to bring important focus to this and other issues impacting credit unions.
There is still time to make your voice heard by participating in this Call To Action.
