Oregon Business and Industry, NWCUA ask Governor to Include Businesses in Re-Opening Planning

Oregon Governor Kate Brown is directing a phased approach to reopening the economy, and the business community is asking for robust engagement in near and long-term deliberations.

The Northwest Credit Union Association and other industries joined Oregon Business and Industry in sending a letter to Governor Brown recommending that she:

  • Immediately convene a panel of business leaders to advise her on strategies for restoring and rebuilding the economy;
  • Advise the state’s medical panel on the economic impacts of reopening;
  • Ensure that medical experts talk directly with businesses prior to finalization and release of reopening guidance, and
  • Develop an economic recovery package for consideration by the Legislature with input from a broad cross section of Oregon industries.
