GoWest Credit Unions Represented at CSG West

GoWest credit unions were well-represented at this week’s Council of State Governments West (CSG West) 78th Annual Meeting held in Jackson, Wyoming.  Wyoming Representative Mike Yin serves as the organization’s Chair this year.

Brooke Parent, VP Legislative Affairs, AZ, Zach Foster, VP Legislative Affairs ID, and Bobbie Frank, VP Legislative Affairs, WY represented GoWest member credit unions at the conference. Foster also participated in a panel discussion on payment systems and interchange.

Foster focused his remarks on the impacts to rural and underserved areas of Idaho should interchange bills, like those proposed in the past four years, were to pass in Idaho. He emphasized the importance of interchange to rural and small Idaho credit unions’ ability to offer products and services and provide member protection from fraud.

CSG West provides state legislators and legislative staff with relationship-building and professional growth opportunities through a variety of regionally focused programs and services.

GoWest is a sponsor of the conference with legislators from across the western states.  The conference wraps up Friday morning.
