OneAZ Credit Union and the OneAZ Community Foundation awarded a $30,000 Legacy Grant in June to Young & Empowered Women, a trailblazing organization dedicated to inspiring and uplifting female leaders in Arizona.
“Awarding this Legacy Grant to Young & Empowered Women is about driving transformative change and empowering rising female leaders to achieve their highest dreams and aspirations,” said Brandon Michaels, President of the OneAZ Community Foundation and President & CEO of OneAZ. “At OneAZ, we’re proud to support organizations like Young & Empowered Women that are igniting significant change in communities across Arizona. This grant is about more than financial support – it’s an acknowledgment of a fundamental truth that every woman should have the opportunity to lead and succeed – and be paid equally too!”
The OneAZ Community Foundation Legacy Grant will expand the capacity of Young & Empowered Women to deliver mentorship and networking opportunities, serving more women with meaningful experiences that will motivate young leaders to strive for what’s next. Young & Empowered Women has already built substantial momentum. The organization reports that one in three members has made a positive career shift, one in four has successfully negotiated their salaries, and 90% have grown their professional network. This grant will provide even more opportunities for Young & Empowered Women to engage rising leaders and mentors across Arizona.
“Young & Empowered Women is honored to be a 2024 OneAZ Legacy Grant recipient,” said Veronica Aguilar, Founder and Chair of Young and Empowered Women. “This support brings us one step closer to closing the gender gap by providing professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities for rising female leaders across Arizona.”
Since 2016, the OneAZ Community Foundation has invested over $1.6 million in Arizona’s nonprofit community. To discover more about OneAZ’s impact in the Arizona community, visit OneAZcu.com/Foundation.
