Upcoming GoWest Delegation Political Events

The political season is heating up and there is no shortage of activity on the horizon. For GoWest, political events are an essential component of the advocacy strategy. There have been several successful events so far this year, thanks to credit union leaders across our six states, and there are many more to come. With numerous critical races in play in this election cycle, it’s important to keep that momentum as we head into the Summer, critical primaries and preparing for November’s General Election.  

Over the past few weeks, our credit unions have hosted Representative Marilyn Strickland (D-WA), Representative Greg Stanton (D-AZ), Representative Dan Newhouse (R-OR), Representative Jason Crow (D-CO). These important events have given us a chance to have impactful conversations with several important members of Congress and credit unions supporters. This is a vital component in our advocacy strategy as we work to move credit union priorities forward at the state and federal level. Keeping credit union-friendly members of Congress in office is imperative to moving our advocacy agenda forward in the coming years.  

Upcoming events include:  

• Breakfast with Congressman Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ-6) prior to the Arizona GAC meeting on July 17 in Glendale, AZ. 
• Lunch with Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ-3) during the Arizona GAC on July 17 in Glendale, AZ as he seeks Kyrsten Sinema’s seat in the U.S. Senate.  
• Happy hour for Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA-9) on July 19th in Bellevue 
• Happy hour for Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY-AL), Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) on July 19th in Cheyenne, WY   

Later into the summer we will be hosting more events for our other priority candidates for this election cycle. Please stay tuned for more information as details become available and please make a plan to join us for these important events.
