Wyoming Session Adjourns Sine Die

The Wyoming Legislature concluded the 2026 Budget Session and adjourned sine die today.

The House, shortly after convening, discussed rules and heard testimony over the check scandal which dominated much of the session on the House side. Freedom Caucus members and leaders placed significant blame on Representatives Karlee Provenza and Mike Yin for bringing the issue to light and sharing photos of the check distribution with the press rather than filing a confidential complaint.

On both the House and Senate side some members took to the mic to share their intent. Notably House Speaker Chip Neiman announced his intent to run for the Senate. Ogden Driskill currently holds the Senate seat.

In the Senate, Senate President Bo Biteman announced he would not run for the Senate. Rumor has it he will announce a run for the U.S. House seat. Senator Stephan Pappas (Laramie County) and Senator Larry Hicks (Carbon County) also announced they would not be running again. Gubernatorial candidate, Senator Eric Barlow will also not be returning.

All House members and all odd-numbered Senate districts are up for election this year. A full recap of the session will be distributed to the Wyoming Governmental Affairs committee.
