Specialized Resource Programs
Credit unions with assets of up to $250 million can access sponsored, subsidized, or discounted support in areas such as strategic planning, marketing, leadership development, coaching, digital strategy, member experience, governance, and organizational growth.
Enrollment for the next Accelerator program cohort opens Sept. 1 and runs through Sept. 30. Participating credit unions have flexibility in their start date and can choose to begin later this year or in early 2027, based on their budget, planning cycle, and organizational priorities.
Since launching earlier this year, 19 credit unions have taken advantage of these resources. We look forward to building on that momentum and welcoming a new group of participants this fall.

Monthly Small Credit Union Roundtables

Attendees at the in-person Small Credit Union Roundtable at MAXX 2025
So far in 2026, 96 small credit unions in the GoWest region have participated in the expanded, virtual Small Credit Union Roundtable. These monthly events create space for small credit union leaders to connect with peers, share best practices, celebrate wins, and engage in open dialogue with GoWest around the priorities and challenges facing small credit unions.
July’s Virtual Small Credit Union Roundtable is Friday, July 24, at 9 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. MT.
This month, some of the biggest questions small credit union leaders are navigating right now will be discussed:
- Where can AI make a meaningful difference, and what should remain distinctly human?
- What will growth and relevance look like over the next three to five years?
- What should your team add, stop, or simplify as you plan for 2027?
- Where is your board strongest, and where could it be more effective?
Register for the July Roundtable.
Credit Union Conversations
Connect with credit union peers across the region through GoWest’s Credit Union Conversations — an online community designed to support you and your team. Join discussions, ask questions, share resources, and exchange insights with fellow credit union leaders. Multiple conversation groups are available, including a private group exclusively for Small Credit Union Leaders.
Small Credit Union Summit at MAXX

Small Credit Union Roundtable panel discussion at MAXX 2025
At MAXX 2026 in Denver, small credit union leaders are invited to join this special session that will feature two moderated panel discussions. The first brings together small credit union leaders to share what’s working, what’s changing, and where they need additional support. The second explores how credit unions of all sizes can collaborate more intentionally through partnerships, shared resources, and other strategies that strengthen the Credit Union Movement.
After the panel discussion, there will be an interactive roundtable discussion designed to surface common challenges, promising ideas, and opportunities to better support small credit union success across the GoWest region.
This is the perfect opportunity for in-person collaboration and networking.
If you haven’t made plans to join us at MAXX yet, register today!
BSA Officer Training
GoWest’s two-day virtual BSA Officer Training on Sept. 9-10 is designed specifically for the professionals leading your credit union’s program, and it goes well beyond the basics. If you’re responsible for BSA compliance, this is an opportunity to deepen your expertise, strengthen your approach, and explore what it truly means to lead in this critical role.
Credit unions with less than $125 million in assets receive complimentary access. Sign up today for this important training.
Small Credit Union Resource Center
The Small Credit Union Resource Center connects leaders with the training, consulting, events, and real-world stories that support success at every stage of their journey. As GoWest’s dedicated hub for small credit unions, it provides easy access to the resources, expertise, and connections needed to move forward with confidence.
Professional Development Scholarships
The GoWest Foundation offers professional development scholarships to assist credit union employees in accessing training and development opportunities to better serve their credit unions, members, and communities.
Credit unions with assets below $500 million are eligible to receive $4,000 in scholarships annually. Scholarships can be used for in-person experiences like MAXX, virtual trainings, and even non-GoWest events.
