Frontier Stable Token advances to next steps

Anthony Apollo, Executive Director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, marked another Wyoming first milestone at the Commission’s meeting last week. The Commission’s technical team transitioned from a limited pilot program of the Wyoming Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), focused on a small number of Wyoming-domiciled entities, to a testing program available for all.
Digital wallet users anywhere in the world can now connect to the Commission’s website to access “testnet” FRNT (“tFRNT”) that does not have a value associated with it. This gives developers – and the public – an opportunity to experiment with this novel digital asset without requiring a purchase.
Converse County Treasurer Joel Schell also addressed the Commission, highlighting how he believes the FRNT can be integrated into state and county operations to save citizens’ money.
Schell referenced the cost of credit card transaction fees that the county collected for payment of registration fees and property taxes, envisioning FRNT replacing those payments. His full testimony can be viewed here.
GoWest has continued conversations with Apollo on positioning credit unions to partner with the State as the FRNT moves forward.
