In District Meetings Across the Region
Posted by Evan Brandaw on August 21, 2025
Members of Congress are home for summer recess, and GoWest is providing opportunities to connect with them in their districts.
Earlier this month, we engaged with both the Wyoming Senators and the Idaho Senators at local events, thanking them for their support and discussing hot topics such as the GENIUS Act and CDFI funding.
This week advocates also met with Rep. Maxine Dexter (OR-3) and Sen. Ron Wyden in Portland to advance credit union priorities. They took the opportunity to thank each of them for their support of Oregon’s credit unions and asked to continue to protect the credit union tax exemption during future reconciliation efforts.
Last week, Oregon advocates met with Rep. Andrea Salinas (OR-6) in Wilsonville to thank her for supporting the credit union tax exemption and modernization of the Federal Credit Union Act.
In Washington, credit unions met with Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-3) in Vancouver to discuss fraud prevention and financial education, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
For more information or to get involved in future events, contact Evan Brandaw, GoWest’s Director of Federal Affairs.
