Minnequa Works Credit Union Hits a High Note for the Community and Is Recognized as Top Fundraiser at United Way Event

Minnequa Works Credit Union proudly took center stage — both literally and figuratively — at this year’s “On The Hook Karaoke Fundraiser,” hosted by the United Way of Pueblo County. The credit union was recognized as the Top Fundraising Organization, helping to raise thousands of dollars in support of United Way’s vital programs that uplift and empower our local community.

Held in the heart of Pueblo, Colo., “On The Hook” brings together local leaders and organizations for a night of karaoke, camaraderie, and charitable giving. The event showcases the power of people coming together for a purpose — and this year, the Minnequa Works team brought both their generosity and vocal talents to the spotlight.

Leading the charge were CEO Nathan Cape and Chief Growth Officer June Hammond, who wowed the crowd with their crowd-pleasing rendition of “Shallow,” made famous by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. Their performance earned applause, laughs, and — most importantly — support for a cause that touches lives across Southern Colorado.

“Minnequa Works is deeply honored to be recognized as the top fundraiser,” said Cape. “But more than anything, we’re proud to stand with United Way and support the incredible work they do to improve lives here in our hometown. That’s what being The Local Difference is all about.”

The funds raised at the event will help fuel United Way’s vision of being a catalyst for sustainable community-driven change to build a healthy future with empowerment for all. For Minnequa Works, participating in events like this isn’t just community involvement — it’s a reflection of their values and a commitment to creating a stronger Southern Colorado for everyone.

As the music fades and the spotlight dims, the impact of the evening continues — thanks to passionate individuals, generous supporters, and credit unions like Minnequa Works who lead with heart, humor, and harmony.
