Trump Endorses Governor Brad Little for 2026

Last week, Idaho Governor Brad Little received a major boost for what appears to be his forthcoming 2026 gubernatorial campaign, an endorsement from President Trump. This marks a notable shift in Trump’s political alignment in Idaho, as he had previously endorsed then-Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin in the 2022 Republican primary.
Trump announced his support on Truth Social, calling Little “the strong and highly popular Governor of Idaho” and praising his leadership on issues such as economic growth, tax cuts, border security, and support for law enforcement and the Second Amendment. He concluded with “Brad Little has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election – HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!”
This endorsement comes even though Governor Little has not yet formally declared his candidacy. However, many interpret this as a strong signal that he intends to seek a third term. His campaign has already raised nearly $1.5 million.
This is just the beginning of candidates announcing their intentions to run for political office. The 2026 ticket will be full of heavy hitters starring Governor Little and U.S. Senator Jim Risch. The official filing window for candidates to file with the Secretary of State’s office opens in March 2026.
