Northern Colorado CU Hosts Legislative Town Hall

On Saturday, Northern Colorado Credit Union in Greeley hosted a Town Hall updating constituents on the recently ended 2025 Colorado Legislative session.

Representative Ryan Gonzalez (R-50) and Senator Scott Bright (R-13) briefed attendees on the session, bills passed, and the importance of engaging in the democratic process. Representative Lori Garcia Sanders (R-65) also attended the meeting.

Several community members attended and the credit union team made sure it was a great event. This is a terrific example of grassroots engagement in action.

“Having this event in the credit union was a perfect way to bring members of the community into the building and show them how credit unions care about what’s most important – serving them,” said Katie March, GoWest’s VP of Legislative Affairs for Colorado. “Overall it was a great event, with participants asking smart questions of the legislators, all in the setting of the credit union – showing everyone that credit unions’ service goes above and beyond.”

Each legislator used their social media to talk about the event as well.

Thank you to CEO Meagan Barrett and her team for putting on the Town Hall. If your credit union would like to host a similar type of event, reach out to the advocacy team and we’ll be glad to connect you with your legislators to offer to partner with them.
