Colorado Credit Union Partners with Boys & Girls Clubs to Bring Financial Literacy to Families

Colorado Credit Union partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver in June to host a free, hands-on Family Financial Education Night at the Shopneck Club in Brighton, Colo., offering an evening of interactive learning to more than 30 attendees comprised of Club members and their families.

Through Colorado Credit Union’s partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, which began in 2023, Colorado Credit Union continues to deliver valuable financial literacy experiences and resources to club members and their families.

Colorado CU Bite of RealityThis event marks the expansion efforts of Colorado Credit Union’s Bite of Reality program beyond partner schools, which now reaches nonprofit partner organizations, providing critical financial education to even more community members. The Bite of Reality event provided Shopneck Club families with practical, real-life lessons in budgeting, saving, and making smart spending decisions. Families worked together to manage everyday financial scenarios, distinguish between needs and wants, and make informed financial choices.

“We are excited to expand our Bite of Reality program to include our nonprofit partners, furthering our mission to make financial education accessible to all,” said Teagan Werden, Community Impact Manager at Colorado Credit Union. “Thanks to the generous support of the GoWest Foundation, we are able to bring these important financial literacy experiences and resources to even more communities.

“Colorado Credit Union’s Bite of Reality event was an incredibly fun and educational evening for our families. It provided a valuable learning experience for our Club members and brought our community closer together,” said Andrew Worcester, Club Director, Shopneck Boys & Girls Club. “We are deeply grateful for Colorado Credit Union’s continued support of the Shopneck Boys & Girls Club and their strong commitment to uplifting local organizations like ours.”

By deepening its partnerships and expanding financial education programs, the credit union helps families build confidence and engage more openly in conversations about managing their financial futures.
