The Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce recently recognized Nathan Cape, CEO of Minnequa Works Credit Union, as the recipient of the prestigious Gil Sanchez Outstanding Professional of the Year Award. This award honors individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, and a lasting impact on the Pueblo community.

Under Cape’s leadership, Minnequa Works Credit Union has reinforced its commitment to being the local difference, empowering the Southern Colorado community through financial services, philanthropy, and outreach initiatives. While the award recognizes Nathan’s professional achievements, he emphasized that this honor is a testament to the collective efforts of the Minnequa Works team and their unwavering mission to uplift and support the people they serve.

“This award isn’t just about me – it’s about the incredible team at Minnequa Works and the work we do every day to make a difference in our community,” Cape shared during his acceptance speech. “I’m deeply inspired by the dedication of our team, who go above and beyond to help our members and ensure we’re making a meaningful impact where it matters most.”

Cape reflected on his personal journey and the values instilled in him by his parents, who worked tirelessly to provide for their family. “I grew up watching my parents work long hours, taking on extra jobs to make sure we had food on the table and a roof over our heads. Their resilience and determination shaped the way I lead today – with a focus on hard work, service, and making opportunities available to others.”
