Time Is Almost Up! Submit Your Nominations for the 2024 GoWest Awards by Friday!

The deadline to submit nominations for the 2024 GoWest Awards is just two days away!

Now is the time to nominate a credit union or credit union professional for one of the GoWest Awards categories so they can hear their name called at the MAXX 2024 Awards Dinner and Gala in October! Submit your nominations by May 31.

This is your chance to share the extraordinary achievements and accomplishments that individuals and credit unions have had over the last year. You can nominate individuals from your credit union and even your own credit union for the amazing work it’s done!

Award Categories

Employee Experience – Recognizes a credit union that has intentionally built a culture of internal professional development by fostering a positive work environment, providing tools for growth, and encouraging and supporting career development.

Member Program – Recognizes a credit union that has developed an initiative, business model, program, or service that addresses the local, social, cultural, or economic needs that are specific to the credit union’s membership.

Community Impact – Recognizes a credit union that has demonstrated the value of its unique structure through a comprehensive approach to social responsibility and community impact throughout its institution.

Cooperation in Action – Recognizes two or more credit unions, a CU Community or CU Communities, or credit union professionals from separate credit unions, working together in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration, which results in a much greater impact.

Young Professional – Recognizes a next-generation credit union leader. This individual demonstrates a commitment to credit union advocacy, community service, and excellence in credit union operations or team building with proven results.

Distinguished Director – Recognizes the outstanding achievement and accomplishments of a credit union board member who demonstrates commitment and leadership in credit union advocacy, community service, and the ongoing success of their credit union.

Summit Advocate – Recognizes the outstanding achievement and accomplishments of a credit union professional who demonstrates commitment and leadership in credit union advocacy.

Summit Icon – Recognizes a credit union professional who exemplifies outstanding overall and sustained leadership in the Credit Union Movement with respect to advocacy efforts, social responsibility, credit union philosophy, and community impact.

Entry Tips

• The nomination form cannot be saved so it’s a good idea to prep your entry in another format (like Word) before starting to fill it out.
• Be thoughtful with your responses and fully describe why you believe the individual or credit union deserves the award.
• Use the recommended word count parameters to include lots of details so the Recognition Advisory Committee has as much information as possible to consider.
• Attach any supporting material, like photos or videos, that you think will help bring the entry to life.
• Provide a link to any website or social media that has been used to promote the individual or credit union’s accomplishment.

Nomination Inspiration

2023 Cooperation in Action – Spokane Credit Unions

The Spokane area’s 17 credit unions came together for two extraordinary projects. First, they partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help build two homes, contributing 600 volunteer hours that offset $50,000 for homeowners. Second, in cooperation with the Spokane Low Income Housing Consortium and GoWest Foundation, the credit unions established Washington’s first land bank, a holding for properties that are set aside for the development of low-income housing by nonprofits.
