Protecting Wyoming’s Vulnerable Adults Training

Mark your calendars for online training provided by the Wyoming Department of Family Services/Adult Protective Services outlining what steps financial institutions should take to protect vulnerable adults from financial exploitation.  With the passage of Senate File 24 – Financial Exploitation of Vulnerable Adults legislation during the 2023 session, financial institutions have more opportunity, responsibility and immunity as it relates to helping prevent financial exploitation.

DFS/APS, is conducting a training June 13.  All stakeholders, including local banking partners, credit unions, Adult Protection Team (APT) team members, etc. are invited to participate to get involved and aware of the statute changes and how it’s going to be handled by DFS field staff as well as the financial institutions.  This new law goes into effect July, 2023.
