Industry Events for Directors
Engagement is critical to the role credit union directors play in the governance of credit unions, and it takes many forms from educational opportunities to advocacy. Directors from across the nation or even from countries around the world come together at industry conferences to learn about the newest trends in technology, how credit unions meet the changing financial needs of members, and the latest regulatory challenges. These are just some of the topics directors tackle to ensure credit unions not only remain relevant to their members, but also thrive.
Advocacy is also key to engagement, with never-ending opportunities to expand the legal and regulatory authority of credit unions to serve members and to ensure the best operating environment. Directors may engage in person with peers, with legislators and regulators, and with credit professionals of all different backgrounds and roles.
