Prepare for MAXX

At MAXX, credit union professionals and Board Directors experience high-level training and forge valuable new relationships. MAXX brings together thought leaders and industry experts who will inspire you and help you understand the latest industry developments at the national, regional, and state levels. You will hear from top-notch speakers who bring you the newest information about top-of-mind issues, along with legislative and advocacy advancement updates.

MAXX Trade Show

The Solutions Trade Show allows business partners and vendors to showcase their products and services. You’ll have the chance to explore a wide range of products and services offered to support day-to-day operations and strategic objectives within your organization. We also have volunteer opportunities for various tasks. We will provide more details during our orientation.

Items to Consider Bringing

As you pack and prepare for travel, you may want to consider the following:

  • Business casual clothing and shoes. You’ll want to be comfortable during the day.
  • Casual clothing and shoes for evenings like the offsite hosted YP Leads event on night one.
  • Bring extra shoes – Even your favorite pair may get uncomfortable after a few days.
  • Semi- formal wear for CU4Kids event unless you choose to dress up in your best Diamond Round Up attire!
  • Semi-formal wear for the Credit Union Celebration Dinner & Gala.
  • You’ll want to bring business cards. One of the great benefits of MAXX is the ability to network with people who share your interests. Don’t have printed business cards? Get creative by creating a QR code for your LinkedIn profile.
  • Think about bringing snacks for your room and a reusable water bottle.
  • Remember to stay hydrated.
  • Consider vitamins and Emergen-C to fend off fall colds.

When You Get Home

Report out right away! Share what you learned with your co-workers, supervisor, board, or staff. This will help you bring your MAXX experience back to your credit union and anchor your new knowledge.

Follow up. Reach out to the contacts you made while networking.

Offer your suggestions. Shortly after the conference ends, GoWest will email you a brief survey. Please share your feedback!

Make plans to attend your next MAXX. Save the date for Oct. 13-16, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, for MAXX 2025!

YP Leads Code of Conduct

During the orientation, we will discuss a code of conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to interactions in our shared professional lives, including our daily encounters, shared online spaces (e.g., MAXX App), social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), MAXX, or other GoWest events.

Be mindful of your surroundings, actions, and statements, as well as the impact they can have. Remember that you are not only representing your own personal brand. You are representing each of your respected Credit Unions as well.

Agreements:

  • Be Curious. Be open to new ideas, dialog, and the unknown. It’s okay not to know. Be open to change and make space for others to do so as well.
  • Lean in. Be accountable for moving this work forward by actively listing, participate, and being present. You’re going to get out of it what you put into it.
  • Share the air. Share responsibility for including all voices. Allow room for others to speak. It’s our collective responsibility to ensure everyone is heard.
  • Don’t assume. Understand and act upon the fact that what may be acceptable to one person may not be to another.
  • Include others. Go out of your way and across cultures to include people in casual, or when appropriate work-related conversation.
  • What else? The 2023 YP Leads cohort vibe is yours to create.

Stay Connected—Lastly, be sure to add the 2024 MAXX App to your phone. You will soon receive an email with information on how to download the app before MAXX. We will also take a moment during the orientation to familiarize ourselves with the MAXX app.

MOST IMPORTANT: Remember to have fun and soak in the experience!
