VP of Business Services – Operations
Job Description:
Sets the strategy for business services and products and provides oversight to the Business Services operations teams. Develop and maintain performance metrics in each area within the Business Services Team and mentor and motivate staff to achieve stated goals. Provide experience and guidance to prudently evaluate/decision commercial lending and deposit operations. Ensure coordination of the various segments within the Business Services area, including Credit Management, Sales, Servicing, Reporting, Collections and the production team. Ensure best industry practices are carried out in all areas within the department to receive strong exam and audit results. This position will require working with production and processing staff to optimize workflow processes to position the department for long term success.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
25% Provide oversight, direction, and management of MBL portfolio and Business Services operation teams, including Credit Administration, Processors, Servicing and Reporting, and Loan Workout. Develop and maintain strong credit culture through actions and direction. Work directly with the businesses Development/Sales/Member Service teams to evaluate credit opportunities. Proactively provide applicable training to staff on a regular, scheduled basis.
20% Perform joint calls with team members on large member loan requests as well as keep records on pipeline and possible changes within the portfolio. Use reports to direct activity with Business Lending Staff. Further, create and analyze reports to direct optimization efforts that ensure the best credit risk practices are being followed and processes are being adhered to.
15% Direct group/team meetings including Evaluating credit worthiness, Loan Request Processing, Delinquency and Watch list review to ensure unified approach and strong communication.
15% Reviews credit write-up requests and problem loan memos to assist the CLO/Credit Committee in structuring loan per policy and negotiating terms to ensure acceptable risk. Ensures credit quality is well managed within credit union targets and goals.
10% Stay current on applicable regulations, credit union policies, operational controls, safety measures, service, and security procedures to ensure compliance throughout assigned areas of the credit union.
5% Hires, trains and develops performance plans for staff and related measurement processes and track progress to achieve stated goals.
5% Coordinates and acts as Liaison with Examiners and Auditors for MBL activities. Creates and maintains updated policies and procedures for MBL area.
5% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
