Join the Salal Credit Union team in leading our Retail Banking team to success as the Vice President of Retail Banking. This leadership role will be integral to our member experience both through virtual channels and in person at our four area branches. The Vice President of Retail Banking is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the credit union’s Retail Business line including branch network, retail operations, and virtual member experience. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping and implementing retail sales and service strategies, directly influencing our growth and success. This role is hybrid and would require in-office meetings a few days a month (at our Northgate office) and regular visits to our branches (Northgate, First Hill, Bellevue, Tukwila) in person throughout the month.

Major duties of this role will include:

  • Lead the strategy for all Retail business line teams, ensuring effective management of sales, service, and support activities. Drive productivity and process improvements in a dynamic environment.
  • Develop and implement retail sales and service strategies to increase deposit and loan balances, aligning with the credit union’s strategic plan. Collaborate with key stakeholders for a consistent experience across all Retail channels.
  • Collaborate with FVP – Home Lending & Retail Banking to set and adjust sales and service targets and manage incentive plans. Evaluate targets and incentive plans annually and recommend changes.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of sales and service training programs for the Retail business line. Provide coaching and mentoring to leaders to enhance skills and establish a proactive selling environment.
  • Monitor business line performance, analyze results, and implement initiatives to achieve sales goals and financial targets. Develop and track performance metrics for all positions and teams.
  • Resolve member service issues through training, process review, and personal interaction. Address complaints and work towards resolution in line with credit union processes.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual budget and reforecasting process for the Retail business line. Participate in annual business planning and long-term strategy development.

Here are the qualifications of an ideal candidate:

  • 10 years of experience in retail banking, 7 years of experience in team leadership, 5 years of experience in direct sales and service
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Thorough understanding of retail banking, operations, consumer sales, and project leadership
  • Effective presentation and writing skills
  • Experience with data analysis, performance forecasting, budgeting, project management, technology, and marketing

 

TOTAL REWARDS OFFERED

  • Competitive base salary of $137,500 – $195,500 per year depending on experience. This range reflects the entire salary range for the position. The target salary rate that is likely to be offered to the selected candidate is between $160,000-175,000 per year.
