We are seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to join our team! This position is responsible for providing comprehensive commercial credit analysis and development of member business loan approval packages for qualified business members of the Credit Union.

Responsibilities:
- Supports Business Relationship Managers in meeting members’ business banking needs by assisting in all aspects of loan analysis, underwriting, documentation, and portfolio management.
- Researches and analyzes financial information of business loan applicants, preparing presentation materials for new and additional credit requests.
- Monitors and reviews all incoming financial information from the initial application process throughout the life of the loan, as required through policy and regulatory processes.
- Spreads, analyzes and monitors financial information of existing and prospective borrowers utilizing Wolters-Kluwer Cash Suite (or comparable financial analysis software) in order to provide Business Relationship Manager with sufficient information to support each loan application and subsequent loan decision. Provides adequate analysis and commentary on spread reports and other financial information.
- Spreads, analyzes and monitors financial information of new and existing participation loans.
- Assists in the preparation of loan presentations, with guidance from the Business Relationship Manager (who will provide adequate details of the loan purpose, credit structure, management evaluation, history of the business and industry background); as well as, provides information to help determine appropriate risk rating and credit worthiness.
- Performs an on-going review of the member business loan portfolio, ensuring that all applicable loans are reviewed annually.
- Presents accurate status updates and reports to the Director of Commercial Credit Administration and Vice President of Business Services on all pending and/or delinquent financial and covenant tickler items.
- Tests loan covenant compliance – as referenced in the loan documentation – and if necessary, provide additional analysis to the Business Relationship Managers.
- Provides analysis on accounts receivable aging, accounts payable aging, inventory reports and/or other supporting documentation for lines of credit and submits to Business Relationship Manager for review and ultimate approval.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Credit Union’s core processing system, applicable business lending and deposit products; as well as, collection procedures.
- Provides analysis support in completing monthly/quarterly Problem Loan Status Reports.
- Assists department with regulatory audits and credit examinations, portfolio and borrower stress-testing, risk rating reviews, and reconciliation of loan participations within the portfolio.
- Assists lenders, loan document processing/servicing, and loan assistant(s) in loan closing activities, as needed.
- Meets targeted objectives for level of service and contributes to the overall success of the Business Services department.

Education and Experience Required:
- High School Diploma (GED equivalent) required.
- 7+ years of experience in credit analysis, ideally within the business lending sector, demonstrating a progression of responsibilities and functions in senior or leadership roles. A comparable combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field of study.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable State & Federal regulations.
- Knowledge of business lending regulations and loan underwriting guidelines.
- Knowledge of standard loan products and the business lending industry.
- Knowledge related to business lending compliance including, but not limited to, in addition to other state, and federal laws and applicable regulations for banks and financial institutions.
- Knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, programs & processes and the business lending platform system are preferred.
- Skill with strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary; as well as, the ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when submitting or receiving information in writing, in person, or telephone.
- Ability to perform financial spreads with strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
- Ability to act independently with minimal direction and balance multiple assignments while meeting clearly identified deadlines.
- Ability to make sound decisions and make recommendations to Business Relationship Managers, Director of Commercial Credit Administration, and/or Vice President of Business Services regarding loan obligations.
- Ability to apply critical-thinking and social skills to deal with problems involving multiple variables in standardized and/or non-routine situations with competing business priorities.
- Ability to meet annual product knowledge certification, regulation training and other training requirements.
- Ability to analyze work processes and make recommendations for process improvements.
- Ability to provide strong qualitative and quantitative skill; as well as, the use of one’s independent judgment and decision-making when selecting the means of achieving assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to develop methodologies in support of the entire Business Services platform and affiliate departments.
- Ability to quickly respond and adapt to changing conditions and make necessary decisions on matters within assigned authority in the absence of the Business Relationship Manager.
- Ability to negotiate and influence others as needed in order to support the needs of the Business Services team; which further benefits our member businesses, Business Relationship Managers and The Credit Union.

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
