Job Description:

Essential Duties:

  • Manage performance objectives for business volume, deposits, loan portfolios, member service and quality of audit reports for assigned branches, maintaining branch profitability and compliance.
  • Demonstrate effective time management strategies. Ensure a consistent presence at assigned branches; remain engaged in developing branch leaders and teams (80%). Balance onsite responsibilities with business/community development activities (10%) and reporting and analyzing data related to branch activities (10%). 
  • Oversee department hiring, orientation, training, and performance evaluations on all direct-report personnel. Monitor job performance with coaching sessions. Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner. Recommend procedures to enhance performance levels and ensure quality work and high level of service to other departments.
  • Monitor an annual budget and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with VP Retail Branches in market expansion decisions and implementation of any resulting activities.
  • Responsible for leading and communicating information and activities that support adherence to regulatory compliance, operational risk, and policies and procedures.
  • Align sales culture, through weekly sales meetings, partner with sales manager to conduct one-on-one coaching and management of tracking and reporting to ensure each Branch Manager effectively supports the overall success of their team members, their branch, and the Credit Union.
  • Ensure that internal and external Service Levels Agreements are being met or exceeded throughout all branch locations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of products and services, lending/deposit activities, regulations, compliance and participate in other appropriate training as required.
  • Provide on-going coaching to Branch Managers regarding staff development and performance, business development, loan pipeline reports and other established goals.
  • Consistently communicate and coach team members with positive and constructive feedback, complete employee evaluations on time.
  • Promote exceptional performance; manage staffing levels and turnover; address underperforming employees; provide timely feedback and effective solutions.
  • Ensure team members develop effective working relationships with internal departments to provide support of member requests as well as joint business development efforts.
  • Represent the organization to the community as a financial services professional through strong member relationships, business development and community involvement.
  • Create monthly reports using (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Word, Publisher.
  • Demonstrate strong regulatory knowledge applicable to this position and understand and comply with government regulations with particular emphasis on the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US Patriot Act and related regulations.
  • Actively participate and fulfill expectations in the Credit Union Email Security Awareness Program as outlined in the Information Security Program Acknowledgement document.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Five to eight years of similar or related experience. Must have Branch Manager experience. 

Education: (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program
