WSECU’s technology environment is built with our membership in mind – the successful Platform Engineer will bring experience in the design and implementation of build and release processes, deployment and configuration, and monitoring of our digital presence. The candidate will also be flexible with the ability to adjust to change, determining new technical requirements from business needs, evolving goals and strategies for site reliability, and enhancing the digital product offering with emerging technologies.
This infrastructure position, focused on support of our Kubernetes platform, is part of a larger infrastructure team that delivers IT platforms for business success. Dedication to member experience, thinking outside of the box, problem solving, disciplined troubleshooting skills, and strong interpersonal skills will be key to your success at WSECU.

What your day may include as a Platform Engineer:

Utilizing various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services, such as Kubernetes, Terraform Azure DevOps, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, Azure / AWS / GCP

Participating in the DevOps discipline – pipelines, infrastructure as a service, reliability, measuring performance KPIs

Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools

Engineering and maintaining complex alerting/analytics systems such as Splunk and/or ELK

Modeling great customer service and challenging others to raise the bar when necessary

Coaching and mentoring teammates, and working alongside the Service Desk, Cross Functional Teams and the different lines of Business

Enthusiastically assisting teammates and line of business partners in resolving business needs through technology

Solving escalated ticket queue issues on business process failures

Utilizing technologies and building platforms for business consumption

Creating documentation of platforms and services

Owning processes and independently managing workload

Staying calm when incidents occur – being professional, organized, and focused when workload is high and the work keeps coming quickly

Understanding, recommending and pivoting to adapt new technology

Provide input and recommendations to IT architecture on industry leading technologies that can further improve our member experience

What you bring to the team:
-
Associate degree in a related discipline such as IT SysAdmin, Infrastructure or Networking. Additional related work experience may be substituted year-for-year for academic achievement.

Ten or more years’ experience in a high-demand IT environment with continuously growing responsibilities

Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles

Advanced skills in integrating systems and automating processes.

Strong change management discipline, excellent written and verbal communication skills

A passion for providing great member experience through the delivery of technology
Bonus Points if you have:

A Bachelor’s degree in related IT discipline such as IT SysAdmin, Infrastructure or Networking

Six or more years of experience as a Systems Administrator, ideally with a focus on financial systems and business processes
-
Experience with Kubernetes, Credit Union technologies, FinTech SaaS providers, batch/ automation software, distributed systems, remote administration techniques and tools

Experience with Infrastructure as Code

Experience working in a regulated environment
-
Progressive experience in the operations and enhancement of reliable service delivery
Competitive pay: $ 91,405.49 – $137,108.23, DOQ annually

Where we’re located: Corporate Office 330 Union Ave SE Olympia, WA. Position works in a hybrid work environment – combination of working from home & in office (Olympia or Seattle).
When you’d work: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with scheduling flexibility required to meet service needs for this full time Exempt position
