Job Description:

Position Purpose

Responsible for the day-to-day functions in the areas of payroll and benefits.  Responsible for  processing ACH and draft files, responding to SSI verification requests, processing wires, and providing quality member service and support to employees in other departments of the Credit Union.

Principles/Accountabilities

  • Transaction Processing (40%)

Process loan payoff payments received via ACH and wire.  Performs all functions related to receipt of consumer ACH reports, included but not limited to processing notifications of changes and returns within specified timeframes. Assists employees and members with ACH and draft questions and research as well as unauthorized or stopped ACH transactions.

Performs all functions related to consumer ACH origination and return files from various systems, including but not limited to receiving daily files, processing notifications of changes and return within specified timeframe.

Process daily check files and returned check files and share draft exceptions. Process incoming and outgoing wires requests as well as research wire inquiries.

  • Account Inquiries & Maintenance (10%)

Provide direct support for Contact Center and Branch employees by effectively researching issues and answering questions as necessary.  Correct errors and communicate with employees as needed.

  • Process Payroll (20%)

Works with employees and managers to ensure timely approval of timecards.  Responsible for administering the bi-weekly payroll cycle and ensuring proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, employee benefits and other deductions.  Works with Human Resources to ensure all relevant paperwork is in order related to pay transactions. Prepares journal entries to record the accounting treatment of each payroll disbursement. Supports managers and employees with routine, day-to-day payroll questions, to include benefits, timecards and policies.

  • Benefits and other Pay (20%)

Provide direct support for Contact Center and Branch employees by effectively researching issues and answering questions as necessary.  Correct errors and communicate with employees as needed.

  • Reports and Compliance (10%)
  • Produces reports to management upon request. Works with auditors and authorities for compliance and reporting.

Performs other duties as assigned.
