We are currently looking for a full-time non-exempt In House Insurance Sales Agent to join our team!  The In House Insurance Sales Agent is responsible for generating insurance sales for SELCO Insurance Services and our Credit Union Partners primarily through outbound contact to prospects submitted via team referrals and online inquiries channels.

This position will work onsite at the Gateway Branch in Springfield, Oregon.  The In House Insurance Sales Agent is only eligible for in office/branch work arrangements. The successful candidate will need to be available to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm.

COMPENSATION

Base Salary: The base salary for the In House Insurance Sales Agent position is $21.50 per hour.

Incentives: This position is eligible for a monthly incentive typically ranging from $1,100 to $1,600 depending on production.

POSITION DETAILS

Essential Functions include (please see the position description for a comprehensive list):

  • Generate insurance sales by contacting prospects on behalf of SELCO Insurance Services and/or Credit Union Partners submitted primarily through referrals and online channels.
  • Finalize insurance sales by ensuring appropriate documentation is accurately completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain insurance carrier system knowledge and understanding of carrier specific underwriting requirements.

  • Exceptional customer service skills by using the GVAL-HI approach to providing service. Greet people. Value them. Ask how you can help. Listen. Help them. Invite them back.
  • Ability to discover member needs to effectively cross-sell SELCO’s products and services.
  • Ability to read and analyze documents such as insurance policies, motor vehicle reports, insurance scoring, and CLUE reports etc.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; and
  • At least eighteen (18) months of customer service and sales experience in financial institution or insurance; and
  • Valid Property & Casualty License from the State of Oregon is required (this requirement may be waived for the first 90 days of employment); and
  • Valid Life & Health License preferred but not required; and
  • Must be bondable.
