Member Solutions Specialist
Job Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Administer an effective delinquency control and follow-up program.
DUTIES:
- Administer collection program for members with delinquent loans, over-limit Visa accounts and negative share accounts in accordance with QCU procedures.
- Make quality contact with members who are past due and/or overdrawn to resolve account issues.
- Handle incoming calls from members and staff through the department ACD.
- Consult with member concerning hardship extension requests of loan payments for approval by management.
- Assist staff with questions regarding collection activity and chargeoffs.
- Review and recommend delinquent/overdrawn accounts for charge-off and referral to outside agencies.
- Process and review bankruptcy notices.
- Process insurance submissions.
- Process insurance claims.
- Process incoming garnishments.
- Handle settlement requests for approval by management.
- Process direct and indirect credit bureau disputes.
- Manage ChexSystems reporting on overdrawn/charged off share accounts.
- Processes charge offs.
- Review and process delinquency and overdraft reports.
- Submit accounts to collection agencies.
- Process incoming and outgoing department mail.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to use computer keyboard and mouse.
- Must be able to view computer monitor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Recent credit union/financial institution experience in collections preferred.
- Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to meet daily deadlines.
- Ability to deal with members in difficult situations.
- Familiarity with computers (i.e., Internet, email, word processing).
- Strong member service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize required.
- Strong verbal, written, and telephone communications required.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Possess strong problem solving skills.
- Able to make decisions independently and provide support to all departments.
