Job Description:

Job Functions:

  • Produce internal and external communications including direct mail campaigns, e-mail campaigns, signage, collateral, mass advertising (print, social, digital, TV, radio) and event materials.
  • Create, proof, and edit official communication from the credit union to include e-mail, letters, direct mail, press releases, digital marketing material, and member communications.
  • Monitor external communications across a spectrum of platforms, and multiple departments in support of the corporate mission and goals.
  • Direct the work, production, quality, and delivery of marketing resources, including free-lance and contracted vendors, to meet organizational objectives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contracts for marketing, advertising, and member relationship programs.
  • Develop, track and report on the effectiveness of marketing promotions including return on investment.
  • Monitor and engage in social media on behalf of the organization.
  • Develop, manage, and report on market research, member surveys, and other feedback systems.
  • Research, develop, design, and implement products and services that appeal to members and potential members.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and implementation of communications and marketing programs to increase awareness and support of credit union products and services to internal and external audiences.
  • Act as a champion of the brand inside and outside of the organization.
  • Monitor the brand image and work with management and staff to deliver on the brand promise.
  • Develop the annual marketing plan and submit budget requests in support of business plans and objectives.
  • Represent the credit union in organizations and community activities.
  • Provide marketing resources to business development and outside sales activities at vehicle dealerships, retail businesses, employers, government agencies, community events and associations.
  • Plan and coordinate events.
  • Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the President/CEO.

Education and Skills required:

  • Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations or related area is preferred. We recognize that practical experience can be just as valuable as a degree. If you have relevant work experience, certifications, or other qualifications that align with the role, we encourage you to apply.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment and be competent in the operation of a computer and software required to perform job duties.
  • Must be able to work accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and a large quantity of work.
  • Must be able to demonstrate creativity and problem-solving ability.

Experience Required:

  • 3 or more years’ experience in marketing, communications, or related areas is required. Acceptable education may be substituted for work experience.
  • Experience in marketing financial products preferred.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations affecting credit union advertising including Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, and ECOA requirements.

Work Location and Travel Requirements:

Hybrid employee. Remote work eligible with some in-person attendance required. Employees may be required to travel as directed by management pursuant to current policies of the credit union

 Working Conditions:

Employment at Heritage Grove Federal Credit Union requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulder level, and continuous use of hands in repetitive tasks such as typing or data entry.

Employees are also required to be able to speak in person and on the telephone, must have adequate hearing ability, and the ability to see clearly.

Employees are required to interact with others, meet established deadlines, and utilize problem solving ability and initiative.

Employees of Heritage Grove Federal Credit Union have access to non-public personal information regarding members, as well as proprietary trade secrets of the credit union.  Employees must be able to maintain the confidentiality of such information and are required to use care to avoid inadvertently disclosing non-public information relating to the credit union and its members.

Employees may be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions while employed with Heritage Grove Federal Credit Union.  These potentially hazardous conditions may include the possibility of the credit union experiencing a robbery or other workplace violence.
