Marketing Assistant
Job Description:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Member Communication
- Coordinate member communications across all available channels, including but not limited to email, direct mail, social media, website and Digital Banking
- Write, create and coordinate email marketing to members
- Work with vendor(s) to coordinate member mailings and/or print and mail correspondence to members manually
- Ensure all member correspondence is error-free, communicates in the “brand voice,” and is delivered by the prescribed deadline
- Serve as external communication expert, both in terms of strategy and systems
Website & Digital Marketing
- Utilize content management system (CMS) to update website content, create new content, and track overall site performance
- Work with various internal business partners to develop and post content marketing via blogs, social media, or website resources
- Monitor digital marketing performance and website performance, using Google Analytics and other performance data
- Assist in developing digital marketing plans to increase membership and engagement
Social Media
- Write and develop content for social media channels, working with vendor to establish a calendar, monitor and track results
- Work with social media and advertising vendors to ensure communications coordinated and proper posts boosted to increase engagement and awareness in line with credit union goals
- Work with social media vendor to respond to member questions, comments, and complaints.
- Work with graphic designer to ensure visuals are optimized for social media algorithms and appropriate for channels being used
Department Support
- Coordinate community and branch event marketing needs, working closely with community relations department and branches to ensure needs are met
- Work with marketing team to develop campaign materials, messaging, visuals, and target audiences.
- Maintain archive of marketing material and compliance files
- Act as department communication point person by fielding solicitor calls, distributing mail & monitoring Marketing email box
- Maintain inventory of marketing give-away items and brochures
- Order supplies for the department
- Other duties as needed to back-up marketing manager and sr. graphic designer
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business, graphic design or similar field
- Experience in utilizing social networking tools to support marketing strategies and member outreach
- Experience in business/professional writing for social media, email, correspondence, and other formats
- Experience with Google Analytics and SEO preferred
- Experience with website/content management systems highly desirable
- Customer service experience (either in person or via digital formats such as online chat) a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
- Knowledge of HTML, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, and other digital advertising is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines
- Motivated self-starter that anticipates new projects and proactive gets the project underway
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Marketo preferred
- Experience with Adobe programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Spark, etc) preferred.
- Present positive and professional image to staff and members
- Ability to work closely with all members of the department
