Location:
- Southwest Washington
- This position will require visiting branches on a regular basis.
Pay Range:
- The full hourly pay range is $23.14 – $34.71
- We provide an additional $2.00 per hour bilingual differential for those employees who can support our members’ financial needs effectively in a second language; subject to verification of strong grasp of financial terms utilizing language skillset.
Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer of employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.
Job Overview
This position provides assistance with a variety of tasks to ensure the Financial Advisor is more efficient and focused on business development and advising clients. Assists in building the Financial Advisory book of business.
What you’ll do:
- Oversees and provides support in pre-client meeting preparation and post-client meeting processing work.
- Attends client meetings, takes, assembles, and transcribes notes relative to action items, tasks, and decisions made during appointments.
- Assists with signature collection from clients, copying of documents, or other tasks required during client meetings.
- Manages and oversees estate settlement issues as necessary.
- Updates asset values and runs reports from database.
- Maintains client files in appropriate order and assists with document scanning.
- Responds to client inquiries and assists with client requests to provide the highest level of client service.
- Assists with workshops, seminars, and client educational events.
- Approaches clients through a combination of methods, including mail, phone solicitations, presentations to groups, and public speaking to member groups on the general subject of financial well-being.
- Develops internal and external referral sources through participation in credit union events, community activities, and participation in seminars to member groups.
- Ensures that all disclosure documents are properly explained to, understood, and signed by the member.
- Follows up on all leads.
- Refers members as appropriate to the credit union for services.
- Schedules fact-finding appointments with clients to ascertain their particular needs and financial situations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of one (1) year related experience in financial planning, including internship experience.
- Certifications: Series 7, Series 66 or Series 65 & Series 63, and Insurance License.
What you’ll bring:
- Knowledge of mutual fund, asset allocation discussions, brokerage needs, basic tax-free and deferred investments, trust and estate planning, as well as income and retirement planning.
- Ability to partner with the Advisor and implementing a structured client contact strategy and encouraging annual reviews.
- Knowledge of asset consolidation and/or High Net Worth product development, and other more sophisticated product offerings.
- Client service skills.
- Strong presentation skills; comfortable speaking in front of clients and potential clients.
- Strong industry, product, and branch procedures knowledge.
- Knowledge of financial services products, including but not limited to equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts.

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA), Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer contributions, and Dependent Care FSA (DCFSA). Employees also have access to Life and AD&D insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our 401k plan. Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time (may be prorated based on hire date in the initial calendar year).
All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
