Job Description:

This position is responsible for the daily operations of the credit union technology, information systems, and network systems.  Tasks include, but are not limited to: create, monitor, and maintain all networks; assist employees with software and hardware problems; hardware purchase, installation, trouble shooting and maintenance; performing system maintenance and backups; serve as IT representative on projects assigned by their direct supervisor; maintain positive vendor relationships.  This is a non-exempt position.

  1. Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate networks.
  2. Maintain hardware and software to prevent service interruptions, and coordinate maintenance with the appropriate vendors.
  3. Ensure network security and connectivity, maintain a network diagram.
  4. Research and recommend purchase of IT related equipment, remaining within budget estimates submitted during the prior year, along with providing estimates to departments for approval.
  5. Resolve network and connectivity problems reported by end-users.
  6. Be available and cooperative to help other employees facilitate the resolution of problems.
  7. Assist in keeping IT procedures and manuals updated.
  8. Act in a relief capacity in the absence of their supervisor.
  9. Assist end-users with troubleshooting of basic computer issues.
  10. Assemble PC components into a complete PC system.
  11. Install, configure, and maintain Windows environment, and other required software.
  12. Troubleshoot and support basic systems functions related to the core credit union transactional platform and associated services, electronic document archive, and print functions.
  13. Serve as IT representative on cross-departmental projects, as assigned.
  14. Uphold and use TMA (The Member Advantage) AID,Inc principles to serve internal and external members and meet CU goals; identify, recommend, develop and implement products and services that are best suited to fulfill the needs of the member.
  15. Understand and promote Credit Union vision, mission, goals, culture, values, image and service philosophy; projects positive image and role modeling.
  16. Be an ambassador for Wauna Credit Union in the community.
  17. Understand compliance issues and attend training as they relate to the position, including, but not limited, to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, etc
  1. Successfully graduate from required Integrity Solutions courses and use in position.
  2. Understand and support the mission statement, vision statement and core values of WCU.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
  4. Be genuinely interested in people, with abilities to deal with different people and personalities.
  5. Ability to: collaborate and work effectively, independently, or as part of a team; treat members and employees with utmost courtesy, efficiency, integrity, professionalism and etiquette; articulate effectively; and work in a fast paced environment.
  6. Ability to: operate and trouble shoot PC and various peripherals, learn to use various software; operate basic office machines; complete general typing and computer input tasks.
  7. Be familiar with the IT Manuals and Policy Manual and respect Board policy decisions.
  8. Experience with various computer programming languages used by our systems to make program enhancements and corrections.
  9. Adept at using and learning to use new technology.
  10. Be familiar with the WCU Security Program and procedures for burglary and fire, participating in planned drills.
  11. Able to report to work in other branches as assigned when necessary.
  12. Must be bondable and hold a valid driver’s license and insurance.
  13. Participate in workshops, training, seminars or college classes as directed by supervisor.
  14. Perform all other duties which may be assigned by management.
  15. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  16. Associate degree in computer science or equivalent degree; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  17. At least two years of experience working with personal and mainframe computer systems
  18. At least two years of experience working with networks.
  19. CompTIA Network+ and Security+ preferred but may be substituted with relative work experience

  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposed to hazard of robbery (training provided to minimize risk). Works near moving mechanical parts of standard office equipment. Occasional exposure to common chemicals used within an office.
  • Work Hours: This job can typically be done within a Monday thru Saturday schedule; however, based on events, there will be times when evening and weekend work is required with little or no notice.
