IRA & IRS Reporting Specialist

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Have a working knowledge of the following and be able to guide staff through procedures, including complex situations, while providing world-class service:
- IRA & HSA Plans, Transactions & Required Mailings
- Tax Information Reporting (1099-INT, 1099-R, 1099-SA, 1042-S, 5498 & 5498-SA)
- IRS B Notice & Withholding Processes
- Escheatment
- Provide professional, high-quality service to our members and all fellow employees
- Comply with all security, confidentiality, and internal control procedures
- Schedule time and resources to ensure all work is completed accurately and on schedule
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently and a desire to increase their responsibility and value to OnPoint. History of successfully handling multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, while making sound decisions and consistently achieving performance expectations.
- Ability to use and adapt to changing technology, systems and regulations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to document procedures
- Ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve operational and member issues
- Strong understanding of credit union operations, procedures and applicable regulations
- Proven accuracy, thoroughness, analytical and organizational skills in completing work assignments.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED required
- 2+ Years of IRA Experience required; Certified IRA Specialist (CIS), Certified IRA Professional (CIP) or Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP) preferred
- 2+ Years of HSA Experience required; Certified Health Savings Professional (CHSP) preferred
- 2+ Years of Tax Reporting Validation, Transmission & Correction Experience preferred
- Understanding of IRS Withholding required; B-Notice experience preferred
- Understanding of Escheatment preferred
