Express CU is excited to announce an exciting new opportunity to lead a financial education and training program for our members and staff. The position will be hybrid with regular work expected at the Express office and around the Puget Sound Region.

Areas of Responsibilities to include:
- Financial Education & Coaching Development
- Create and promote financial education materials, workshops, and counseling programs that empower members to make informed financial decisions.
- Council members through personalized financial counseling sessions, helping them navigate their financial goals, improve credit, save, and manage debt, through active listening
- Provide one-on-one and group coaching to enhance financial literacy and build financial confidence among members.
- Collaborate with the Business Development Team to create and promote tailored financial education programs that align with the needs of members and community organizations.
- Community Engagement & Outreach
- Attend community events and actively promote Express’s financial education offerings and financial counseling services.
- Conduct school-based outreach and assess the financial education needs of educators, students, and their families.
- Organize and facilitate financial education sessions both virtually and in-person, aimed at strengthening financial literacy in diverse communities.
- Member Engagement
- Assist new members complete their account opening with Express.
- Conduct check-in calls for new members and new loans to increase engagement and ensure they know how to access their accounts.
- Open deposit accounts, provide account maintenance, and handle routine member service needs.
- Encourage and support account opening efforts and proactively promote relevant financial products and services to members.
- Collaboration & Relationship Building
- Work closely with community partners, staff, and members to build strong relationships and ensure effective delivery of financial education programs.
- Collaborate with the ECU management team to enhance the development and implementation of financial education initiatives and coaching services.
- Partner with management to prepare and facilitate internal training for staff on delivering effective financial coaching and education.
- Program Monitoring & Evaluation
- Assess the impact and effectiveness of financial education programs and coaching sessions, collecting feedback from members to improve services.
- Use data and feedback to refine financial coaching strategies, ensuring programs remain relevant and impactful for members.
- Identify trends and community needs to support the development of relevant financial education products and services.
Qualification and Skill Requirements – The ideal candidate will possess most of the following qualities and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education (fields such as Education, Communications, Marketing, Training, or Volunteer Management are ideal).
- Valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Strong commitment to ECU’s mission and values.
- Experience working with diverse communities (demographically and economically).
- Understanding of economic inequality and structural barriers related to poverty.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff, members, and community partners.
- Certified Financial Counselor (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Knowledge of public benefit systems (e.g., TANF, SNAP, SSDI, SSI).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and video conference platforms to create and facilitate presentations.
- Fluent in Spanish (read, write, speak)
We anticipate qualified candidates to have the following skills and experience:
- Basic financial education experience, with an understanding of the materials created and presented to members and the community.
- Experience with project management and team collaboration.
Physical Environment and work Environment
This is an in-branch position, with the opportunity to work from home from time to time at the manager’s discretion. The role primarily involves desk work and extended periods at a computer. Occasional travel to partner locations will be required for education or networking events. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly $22.00 – $30.00 DOE
